Our History

Richard Knowles, brother of Peter, the current company Chairman, invented the breakthrough “Rock and Roll” machine that evenly distributes the polymer while heating and cooling in the early 60’s.

Even before the opening of our first site in 1973, the Knowles family was there at the beginning of a revolution in Rotational Moulding. Many make claims, but no one had more influence or involvement in the industry we pioneered.

Richard Knowles, brother of Peter, the current company Chairman, invented the breakthrough “Rock and Roll” machine that evenly distributes the polymer while heating and cooling in the early 60’s.

Rotational Mouldings Limited operating in its own 80,000 square foot facility was established in 1973.

1981

Haywood Plastics founded in Rochdale.

2000

Haywood Plastics became Haywood Rotomoulding Limited.

2007

Haywood Rotomoulding acquired Associated Roto Plastics.

2009

Formation of Rotational Moulding Group comprising of two of the largest and most respected custom moulding companies in the UK.

2015

Rotational Moulding Group acquired Francis Ward.

2020

Rotational Moulding Group launches new brand identity.
